Volvo Penta has announced the appointment of Hannes Norrgren as the new president of its Industrial Business division commencing November 1 this year, when he will also become a member of the company’s Executive Management Group.

Norrgren replaces Giorgio Paris who is retiring after 25 years at the company. The new president of Industrial Business for the company is also a long-time Volvo Penta family member, and he has served as CEO for the past three years at Humphree, a fast-growing Swedish marine technology provider in which Volvo Penta is the major shareholder.

Norrgren is also an industry veteran of more than 20 years. His long tenure at Volvo Penta has included serving in positions such as vice president for Industrial Sales and Marketing in Europe.

Commenting on his new position, Norrgren said: “I am very happy to get this opportunity. To be able to lead one of the industry’s top brands in times of disruptive change is an exciting challenge. What we will do over the coming years in relation to our transformation towards sustainable power solutions will define the next era of Volvo Penta Industrial.”
