JLG delivers 40 new MEWPs to Rapid Access for Middle East operations

JLG is delivering 40 new machines, including four of its Ultra Booms, to Rapid Access, one of the largest suppliers of powered access solutions and work at height training in the Middle East.

An announcement from JLG about the new machines being supplied to Rapid Access said that the rental company’s investment was “a step in expanding and rejuvenating the Rapid Access fleet in the region”.
George Majdalany, finance director, Rapid Access, said an order for 147 MEWPs, including the units supplied by JLG, was placed to meet the market’s growing demand for aerial equipment across the GCC region.

“We recognise that markets are changing across the Middle East, with Saudi Arabia growing at pace in line with their Vision 2030,” said Majdalany.

“Saudi Arabia represents the highest value of projects awarded in 2021, and we want to ensure we can supply on demand as the market leader.”

Rapid Access operates from nine depots in the Middle East, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman and is looking to differentiate its expanding fleet in the region.

Ian Hume, JLG’s sales director in MEAIR, said that Rapid Access’ recent equipment purchase includes several large JLG MEWPs, including a 1500AJP — the world's largest articulating boom lift and one of two in the UAE - as well as a 1200SJP and two 1250AJP Ultra Booms.

“JLG is very proud of our close relationship with Rapid Access, and with this most recent purchase, Rapid Access continues to drive the industry and market forward. We anticipate strong demand for JLG machines within rental fleets over the coming 24 months, and I am sure Rapid Access will be at the forefront of this. We are especially excited to see another 1500AJP boom lift enter the market in the Middle East with Rapid Access in Saudi Arabia,” Hume said.

Glyn Brearley, Rapid Access’ procurement director, said the rental major is dedicated to meeting all of its customers’ needs, as well as bringing in new machines that will provide greater reliability for its customers.

“We have a long-standing relationship with JLG, which is represented by the strong presence of their machines in our fleet. We intend to continue to work closely with JLG with future fleet expansion opportunities to deliver the best possible service for our customers,” Brearley said.
